Need some relief from a long cold winter? Join us for activities, from gallery and museum tours to Chinese New Year celebrations to lunches and language groups and sports. Tours, Talks, etc. Saturday, 7 February A visit to the Scharf Collection, currently on display at the Alte Nationalgalerie: a remarkable selection of European paintings, from Goya to Monet, Cézanne, and Bonnard. Activity Highlights in December 2025
Club activities quiet down a little in December to give everyone time for holiday meetings with friends and family. But there is still a lot going on in the BIWC, from language and book groups to walking groups to lunch and evening parties. Tours and Talks Saturday, 6 December A visit to Schloss Britz, where a curator will give us a tour of the current exhibition on art and politics under Frederick II. Join us for special autumn events, from Oktoberfest to the Berlin Festival of Lights to a Day of the Dead celebration. And of course all our regular events continue: lunches and walking groups, language groups and museum tours, book groups ... something for everyone! Lazy days of summer invite us to so many relaxing activities: Wine tasting, art class, hiking, book discussions, language groups … Enjoy the last of the summer with us! Join us for a tour of this decorative building in Potsdam, designed to conceal the steam engine that pumped water to Sans Souci. Here’s your choice of holiday cheer! Parties large and small, Christmas markets and hikes and cozy cafe visits—just the thing for a dark December. Tours, Talks, and Service Every Tuesday English-speaking play group, open to non-members. This is an outreach service activity, bringing our expertise in connecting people to a group at risk of isolation: parents of babies and toddlers. (Not on 24 and 31 December.) Friday, 6 December A visit to a special Christmas market at Rixdorf (Neukölln). All the classic stalls with decorations for Christmas, sweets, food and drinks, choirs who sing Christmas carols and other performances.
