Get Out and Explore

Tuesday, 9 May See Chile and a bit of Peru in the photos and videos of a member who was recently there—a great diversity of settings, from street art in Valparaiso to nitrate mines in the Atacama desert (the driest nonpolar desert in the world!).

Friday, 12 May We will visit Alexandrovna in Potsdam, a Russian-style village named after Czar Alexander I and built to house the singing soldiers who served King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia.

Monday, 15 May During this workshop, Flora D. H. Ojanen, who has been teaching posture improvement and the Alexander Technique for over twenty years, will guide participants through mindfulness exercises and postures to improve posture for better health.

Tuesday, 16 May A visit to the Indian Embassy will highlight its outstanding architectural features, including a striking facade of red Indian sandstone. We will be given a tour through the building and a talk about the cultural and diplomatic aspects of the embassy’s activities.

Thursday, 11 May The Club’s Casual Evening offers a chance to chill out with drinks and chat as the week comes to a close. Centrally located near Hackescher Markt.

Monday, 22 May The Science Group will discuss How Civil Wars Start: And How to Stop Then, by political scientist Barbara Walter.

Monday, 29 May The Afternoon Book Group meets by Zoom, to discuss Audrey Magee’s novel, The Colony, set on an island off the coast of Ireland.

The Film Buffs Group meets on an ad hoc basis, at times convenient to participants.
