Crafts, book discussions, walks through spring gardens and historic districts, a summer skin care workshop … Plenty of things to do in May!

GET OUT AND EXPLORE

Monday, 6 May  The perfect plan for a Spring day!

A late-afternoon stroll around Lietzenssee  —
a hidden gem of a lake in the heart of Berlin —
and then an opportunity to enjoy an evening drink and
the beautiful views at Boothaus Stella.

Friday, 10 May  A guided walk on Potsdam’s History Lane, with interesting information about the history of the buildings we pass. Beginning at Potsdam Hauptbahnhof, we proceed along the Freundschaftsinsel, passing the Landtag and Garnisonskirche, crossing over to the area along the Havel, the Mosque, and then over to Luisenplatz at the Brandenburg Gate in Potsdam.

Tuesday, 14 May  A visit to the Women Artists’ Association 1867, for their exhibition of the work of Julie Wolfthorn, a prominent artist in pre-Nazi Germany. In 1942, when she was nearly eighty, Wolfthorn was deported to Auschwitz, and after her death her work was nearly forgotten. But it certainly is worth revisiting now!

Thursday, 16 May  Learn about the transformation of Wannsee in the 19th century, from a fisherman’s village to a summer residence for Berliners. The walk will include a guided tour of the old church and a special tour of the clock tower. just before noon when its famous carillon starts. We will also visit the paradise garden of the church and have a look at private gardens in the neighbourhood.

Friday, 17 May  A Summer Skin Care Workshop will help you get ready for an active outdoor summer by learning what is involved in good skin-care routines.

Tuesday, 21 May  A stroll through the Botanical Garden to enjoy its dazzling late-spring flowering.
