Tours, Talks, and Service
Every Tuesday English-speaking play group for parents with babies and toddlers, open to non-members.
Tuesday, 10 June A tour in English in and around the “Ghost Station” Nordbahnhof—one of the S-Bahn stations that was sealed off by the East German authorities during the Cold War. The tour includes exploration of a pedestrian tunnel which is usually closed to the public.
Tuesday, 17 June A Magical Journey to Antarctica. A member shares photos and videos from an extended Antarctic journey, showing landscape and wildlife in the transition period from the continent’s brief summer to its fierce winter.
Thursday, 19 June A Visit to the Grunewald Tower. a beautiful red brick tower that is a monument, observation tower and excursion destination, with a restaurant at the foot of the tower and panoramic views of the landscape from the observation deck.
Thursday, 26 June A walk in Babelsberg, seeing the villas of famous people from domains like show business and politics. Our guide, who has lived in this area all his life, will tell us stories about the houses and their occupants.
Food, Drink, and Friends
Friday, 27 June The Kool Kiez groups offers a jaunt to Gendarmenmarkt for lunch at Chipps am Gendarmenmarkt. This neighbourhood eatery offers delicious dishes for any time of day, including healthy all-day breakfast dishes as well as hand-cut pizzas, juicy burgers and traditional tarte flambées.
Also, under the title “Body and Soul,” a member offers a congenial evening together with a light meal, at a mutually convenient time for participants.

Wednesday 4 June The Poetry for Pleasure group meets to hear and discuss poetry in multiple languages.
Wednesday, 11 June The Biographies book group discusses A Woman of No Importance, by Sonia Purnell, the story of an American woman who became the effective center of a network of intelligence-gathering and resistance in France during World War II.
Monday, 30 June The Afternoon Book Group will discuss the Booker Prize winner Orbital, by Samantha Harvey.
The Film Buffs, a WhatsApp group, goes to the movies together on an ad hoc basis.
Stay Fit With Walking Groups
Saturday, 14 June A brisk hike around Britzer Garten, a vast, award-winning park combining various styles and landscapes.

The Club has multiple Mah Jong groups that play regularly, as well as a crafts group that meets at participants’ convenience.
